What’s New on Netflix in May 2026?

Netflix’s May schedule features a wide range of sports and comedy events, including live events and documentaries in both categories. The streaming service will show all the action from the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix weekend, starting with spring qualifying on May 22 and concluding with the race on May 24. Netflix will also host its first live mixed martial arts broadcast—the Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano fight—on May 16.

In the lead-up to the 2026 World Cup, several soccer-related documentaries are also being released this summer: “USA 94: Brazil’s Return to Glory” (May 7) chronicles Brazil’s performance at the World Cup, while “Bus: France’s Soccer Revolt” (May 13) examines the controversies surrounding France’s bid to host the 2010 World Cup. Several soccer-focused episodes of Untold UK will also be released in May. Finally, “Rafa” (May 29) is a documentary series about Rafael Nadal’s tennis career and his final season.

In terms of comedy, the competition show Funny AF with Kevin Hart will conclude live on May 5th. Also airing live is The Roast of Kevin Hart , which will air on May 11th as part of the Netflix Is A Joke Festival. Wanda Sykes has a new stand-up show ( Legacy , May 19th), and the month will conclude with the AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute to Eddie Murphy (May 31st), a ceremony dedicated to the life and work of the comedian.

Other highlights of May include the debut of Mating Season (May 22), a new animated adult comedy series from Big Mouth creator Nick Kroll about love, sex, and relationships in the animal kingdom; and Ladies First (May 22), a comedy film starring Sacha Baron Cohen and Rosamund Pike. Tina Fey’s comedy series Four Seasons (May 28), in which she stars alongside Steve Carrell, also returns for a second season.
