This Subscription-Free Eufy Outdoor Camera Kit Is Now $150 Off.

The EufyCam S3 Pro dual-camera kit with HomeBase 3 is now priced at $399.98, down from $549.99, and according to price tracking data, this is the lowest price it’s ever reached. It’s still a premium kit, but the price reduction makes it easier to consider if you were already planning to invest in a long-term system. You get two outdoor 4K cameras and a HomeBase 3 hub, which handles local storage and system management. This means no monthly fees, as your video recordings are stored locally on the device rather than uploaded to the cloud.
In low light, the S3 Pro excels among most cameras in its price range. Eufy’s MaxColor Vision technology processes video in real time using artificial intelligence, along with a wide f/1.0 aperture and a larger sensor to capture more detail. In practice, this means nighttime footage looks closer to daytime than typical grainy black-and-white footage. Built-in spotlights also help when the scene is too dark, although they aren’t always necessary, according to a ZDNET review .
During daylight hours, the camera records 4K video, which is great for zooming in on faces or license plates. Motion detection is another strong point. The system distinguishes between people, pets, and vehicles and does a good job of minimizing false alarms. It can even recognize familiar faces via HomeBase 3, so notifications can indicate who has been spotted, rather than simply detecting motion. However, you may still need to fine-tune detection zones, especially if the camera has a clear view of a busy street.
Using the system is virtually hands-off. Each camera is equipped with a built-in solar panel and a 13,000 mAh battery, and according to Eufy, an hour of sunlight per day can power it year-round. This eliminates the need for regular charging in most configurations. You also get two-way audio, weather protection, and a siren via the central unit if you need a more active deterrent. One drawback is that while the cameras record in 4K, if you use them (or plan to use them) in the Apple ecosystem, the resolution is downgraded to 1080p and requires an iCloud subscription, which reduces the appeal of the free version.
