IOS 27 May Bring Four New Apple Intelligence Features.

My most anticipated iOS 27 feature isn’t new at all : if rumors are true, Apple is using the next major iPhone update as an opportunity to fix bugs and improve iOS stability. The company has already begun work on this front ahead of iOS 27— in iOS 26.4, Apple fixed some key issues with the iPhone keyboard that users had been complaining about since the initial release of iOS 26, and launched new tweaks to soften the Liquid Glass look in response to negative feedback from some users.
While I hope iOS 27 will be primarily a stability update, I know it won’t contain any new features at all. In fact, rumors suggest Apple will finally introduce a major AI-powered Siri update in this update , something that has been long awaited. But beyond AI-powered Siri, Apple is working on several other Apple Intelligence features. It’s entirely possible that iOS 27 will be both a stability update and Apple’s largest investment in AI to date.
Apple’s code hints at new Apple Intelligence features.
According to MacRumors, server-side code indicates that Apple is working on four new Apple Intelligence features for iOS 27. This discovery was made by Nicholas Alvarez, and MacRumors has confirmed the findings.
The first two of these features relate to Visual Intelligence , Apple’s AI-powered tool for understanding the world around you (or the contents of your iPhone screen). According to the backend code, Apple is working on a feature that will allow you to scan a product’s nutrition label to learn more about it. MacRumors speculates that this feature could work with the Health app, possibly to register new products and include all their nutrition information.
In addition to the nutritional scanner, Visual Intelligence can add printed phone numbers and addresses to the Contacts app. This can be especially useful when receiving a business card: instead of holding the card and entering the information manually, you can simply scan it with your iPhone, and iOS will add the recipient’s information to a new Contacts entry.
Apple Intelligence may also soon introduce a feature to create digital passes for the Wallet app based on physical items. The idea is that you use your iPhone’s camera to scan a concert ticket or loyalty card, and iOS will automatically generate a pass for storage in Wallet. A similar feature exists in Google Wallet on Android.
Finally, Safari may also get a new AI feature: when you create a tab group, iOS can automatically name it based on the contents of the tabs. For example, if you collect several tabs with different recipes, iOS will name your tab group “Dinner Ideas,” or if you organize a collection of places you’d like to visit on your trip to New York, iOS will name the group “New York Vacation Plans.”
While MacRumors confirmed that these features are mentioned in the code, there’s no guarantee they’ll appear in iOS 27 or be exactly as described here. We won’t know what iOS 27 will actually look like until Apple’s WWDC keynote in June .
