Bluesky Continues to Experience Communication Issues.

If you’re having trouble accessing Bluesky this morning, you’re not alone. The social network experienced intermittent outages on Thursday. This is evident from Downdetector , which shows thousands of user reports of Bluesky issues starting around 1:51 AM ET and peaking at 2:21 AM ET. (Note: Downdetector is owned by Ziff Davis, the parent company of Lifehacker.)

While my Bluesky feed appears to be working now, there are still issues causing disruptions to users and parts of the platform, including notifications loading. At the time of writing, Bluesky’s status page displays the following messages: “We are investigating a service incident in one of our [regions]” and “We are experiencing additional issues. Thank you for your patience.” Bluesky previously stated that the issue had been resolved , so the platform may be having difficulty identifying the root cause.

What do you think at the moment?

It’s currently unclear what exactly is causing Bluesky’s outage. However, it’s likely the issue will be resolved in due course. Websites sometimes go down for one reason or another, and barring attacks or catastrophic issues, the source is usually identified relatively quickly, and a fix is deployed shortly thereafter. I expect that by today—perhaps by the time you read this—Bluesky will be back up and running.
