The Asus ROG Swift PG32UCDP has been reduced from $1,299 to $899. It’s a 32-inch 4K OLED monitor designed for those who juggle gaming and other tasks. It’s a typical ROG display, but it also features a USB-C port with up to 90W charging, allowing the laptop to run and charge with a single cable. There’s also a built-in KVM switch, allowing you to switch between two systems without powering down, making it easy to use the monitor as a single display for work and play.
In use, the OLED panel is a major advantage. Blacks appear deep, and dark scenes don’t appear washed out, which helps with games where lighting and contrast are important. The 4K resolution at 240Hz delivers a combination of clarity and motion smoothness, which feels like an improvement over standard high-refresh-rate displays. Fast-paced games also feel responsive thanks to the near-instantaneous response time and low input lag. There’s also a 1080p mode that increases the refresh rate to 480Hz, though this mode is aimed at competitive gamers who prioritize speed over resolution. While it works as expected, the reduction in clarity is noticeable outside of fast-paced shooters.
One drawback worth noting is VRR flickering in dark scenes when the frame rate changes. Asus offers a setting to reduce it, but this can reportedly cause some stuttering. Furthermore, this isn’t the brightest OLED display in this price range. QD-OLED options, such as the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 G80SD, can produce richer colors. It’s also important to consider OLED screen maintenance and the general risk of burn-in over time.
