The Top 10 Movies Available Right Now, According to Streaming Services.

Perhaps it’s the post-Oscars rush, but the most popular movies in America in March were adult films. From 16th-century Shakespearean sorrows to dark Norwegian family dramas, the country’s most-watched films were genuinely good. But we’re not a boring nation, so the list also includes such wonderful entertainment as Ready or Not and The Housemaid . Here are the 10 best movies across all streaming platforms for March 2026, according to Just Watch .
Hamnet (2025)
Great job, America, with your exquisite taste! The number one movie in March was Hamnet , a lyrical historical drama reimagining the family life of William Shakespeare and his wife, Agnes Hathaway. Set in 16th-century Stratford-upon-Avon, the film chronicles the couple’s grief after the death of their 11-year-old son, Hamnet, and his influence on Shakespeare’s Hamlet . The film was nominated for eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, but won only one: Jessie Buckley won for Best Actress. Watch Hamnet on Peacock .
Sentimental Value (2025)
Another unexpectedly intelligent film takes the second spot on the streaming service charts: “Sentimental Value , ” a dark Norwegian drama about suicide and family trauma passed down through generations. Director Joachim Trier made the film about two sisters, Nora (Renate Reinsve) and Agnes (Inga Ibsdotter Lilleas), who are forced to confront their past when their estranged father, Gustav (Stellan Skarsgård), reappears to offer Nora the lead role in a film. “Sentimental Value ” won two Oscars: Best International Film and Best Original Screenplay. Watch “Sentimental Value” on Hulu .
Secret Agent (2025)
This Brazilian neo-noir political thriller is set in the late 1970s, at the end of Brazil’s military dictatorship. Wagner Moura plays Armando Solimões, a former professor declared an enemy of the state and forced into hiding. Although the film did not win any Oscars, it was nominated for four, including Best Picture, Best Actor (Moura), Best Foreign Film, and Best Casting. It has a near-perfect 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes . Watch Secret Agent on Hulu .
Ready or Not (2019)
Unlike the other films on this list, Ready or Not wasn’t nominated for any Oscars, but it deservedly won the 2020 Fangoria Chainsaw Award. It’s here because the sequel hit theaters in March. Ready or Not is an uncompromisingly upbeat dark comedy that takes murder and mayhem to the extreme. Grace (Samara Weaving) is overjoyed to be marrying a super-rich member of the Le Domas family until she discovers an old family tradition of playing deadly games of hide-and-seek. Guess who’s “the one”? Watch Ready or Not on Hulu .
One Battle After Another (2025)
Paul Thomas Anderson’s subtle, intelligent thriller about resistance and race in a fascist, anti-immigration United States became an instant classic. Featuring superb performances from Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro, and Regina Hall, One Battle at a Time is a rare film that is both thoughtful and gripping. It was nominated for 13 Academy Awards and won six, including Best Picture and Best Director. Watch One Battle at a Time on HBO Max .
Sinners (2025)
This unique film so skillfully blends multiple styles that it’s practically become a genre unto itself. A historical horror/romantic drama/comedy/musical exploring racial and historical prejudices in the United States, The Sinners tells its story through both song and vampire-involved violence. It’s absolutely top-notch in every cinematic aspect, which is likely why it received a record-breaking 16 Oscar nominations. Watch The Sinners on HBO Max and Prime Video .
War Machine (2026)
Netflix’s War Machine is a fast-paced sci-fi action thriller in which a squad of Army Rangers in training encounters a robot from outer space bent on their destruction. Led by action star Alan Ritchson ( of Reacher fame), the squad swaps blanks for live ammunition to try to stop the seemingly invincible mechanical hunter. If you enjoy films like Predator or Commando , you won’t want to miss this one. Watch War Machine on Netflix.
Zootopia 2 (2025)
Since its November 2025 release, this quirky animated sequel has been delighting critics and audiences alike . Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde return to track down a mysterious venomous snake named Gary De’Snake, who has infiltrated Zootopia . To solve the case, the iconic duo must go undercover in uncharted areas of the metropolis. Watch Zootopia 2 on Disney+ .
Bugonia (2025)
I love it when a weird film finds a wide audience, and “Bugonia” is exactly that. Jesse Plemons and Aidan Delbis play a pair of misfits who kidnap a powerful pharmaceutical executive (Emma Stone) because they think she’s an alien. Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, who made the excellent 2023 film “Poor Things,” which was nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture, it’s a must-see, even if you’re a little weird. (And if you’re looking for even more weirdness, the film is based on an even weirder South Korean film called “Save the Green Planet .”) Watch “Bugonia” on Peacock .
Nuremberg (2025)
Nuremberg is a true story based on the events of Lieutenant Colonel Douglas Kelly (Rami Malek), an American Army psychiatrist tasked with assessing the mental state of Nazi Germany’s leader, Hermann Göring (Russell Crowe). Through the psychological and intellectual clash between the idealistic psychiatrist and the charismatic Göring, Nuremberg explores the nature of evil and the price paid by those who fight it.
