As Part of the $135 Million Android Settlement, You Could Get up to $100.

Millions of Android users are now eligible for monetary compensation from Google as part of a $135 million settlement. If you own a device that meets the terms of the agreement, you can receive up to $100 after the final approval hearing in June.
What is this Android agreement about?
The settlement is part of a class action lawsuit filed earlier this year alleging that Google collected unnecessary data from Android users over cellular networks in the background and without permission—even when Google apps were closed and location sharing was disabled. Google denied any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $135 million and also committed to implementing additional notifications displayed during Android device setup.
Who is eligible to receive the payment?
The settlement provides for payments to all owners of mobile devices in the United States running the Android OS and connected to a cellular network between November 12, 2017, and the final settlement date later this year. It should be noted that this does not apply to Wi-Fi-only devices. California residents involved in the Csupo v. Google LLC case are also not eligible for payments, but are included in this lawsuit.
The exact amount of compensation for each user has not yet been determined, as it depends on the number of people eligible for compensation. The maximum payment is $100, although the total amount could be significantly less if the approximately 100 million class-action participants receive equal amounts.
How to Claim Compensation for Damaged Android Devices
If you are eligible for payment under this agreement, you should receive a personalized notice by mail or email. Subject: “Notice of Class Action Settlement – Taylor v. Google LLC.” We found it in your spam folder, so please check that folder if you believe you are eligible but haven’t received the notice. Then , go to the agreement website and enter the notification ID and confirmation code to select your preferred payment method.
If you fail this procedure, the agreement administrator will still attempt to automatically send you funds, but there is a risk that you may not receive them. Since payments will be made regardless, the only deadline is May 29th to file an objection or remove yourself from the agreement group. The final approval hearing is scheduled for June 23rd.
