The Kids’ Version of This LTE-Enabled Fitness Tracker Has Been Priced at $100.

Gamification of boring but necessary life tasks has been around for a while, and perhaps the most well-known fitness option in recent years is Fitbit. Since Google owns Fitbit, the company is releasing a fitness smartwatch, bringing the same idea to kids with the Fitbit Ace LTE . This kid-friendly smartwatch is currently on sale at a significant discount: $99.95 (the original price at launch in 2024 was $229.95)—its lowest price yet, according to price comparison tools .

The Fitbit Google Ace LTE smartwatch is designed to make an active lifestyle fun for kids, offering engaging games and animated digital animals. It has a screen time limit—if playing a game, you need to reach a certain activity goal every 5-10 minutes before continuing. Parents can track their child’s smartwatch location using the LTE GPS signal. The smartwatch supports text messaging and calling, is compatible with Android and iOS, and features parental controls.

However, the Fitbit Google Ace LTE isn’t perfect. It’s sometimes slow; there’s no compatible app for music or sleep tracking; and the rewards system can be a bit overdone—all according to a PCMag review that gave it an “Excellent” rating .

This watch is designed for children aged seven to eleven and requires a monthly subscription of $9.99 (although annual Ace Pass subscriptions are sometimes offered at a 50% discount), which provides access to games, GPS location tracking, and LTE services. Parents or guardians must download the Fitbit Ace app to set up the watch and subscribe to the Ace Pass plan.

What do you think at the moment?

If you don’t pay for a subscription, you’ll only have access to basic movement and step tracking, but in that case, you might as well buy a Fitbit Ace 3 for $75.99 at the same time.
