You Can Now Use Two WhatsApp Accounts on Your IPhone.

WhatsApp just announced a series of updates for iPhone users, catching up and introducing some features that have been available on Android for years. With this update, iPhone users can expect multiple accounts, easy data transfer between platforms, the ability to clear only media files from chats, and, of course, several Meta AI features. According to WhatsApp , the update is already rolling out and will be available to everyone soon—though, since it’s rolling out slowly, it may take some time before it’s available on your iPhone.
iPhone users can now have two WhatsApp accounts at the same time.
The most significant update is the addition of multiple account support, which WhatsApp has been testing on iPhone since January of last year and will be available on Android starting in 2023. Now, just like on Android, you can use two WhatsApp accounts on your iPhone: one for work and one for personal use. However, since it’s WhatsApp, the second account will require a separate phone number (that’s where the eSIM comes in ). Once set up, you’ll receive notifications and messages from both accounts, and you can switch between active accounts via the Profile menu on the tab bar.
Transferring messages from iPhone to Android has become easier.
WhatsApp has made it much easier to transfer chats between two phones . Now, everything happens over Wi-Fi ( previously, a USB-C cable connection was required ). On your iPhone, go to Settings > Chats > Transfer Chat History > Transfer to Android to get started. Make sure your iPhone is unlocked, and when prompted, scan the QR code and connect to a stable Wi-Fi network.
Free up space without deleting entire chats.
Photos and videos typically take up the most space in WhatsApp. The app has a dedicated storage management tool that allows you to delete images and videos in bulk, but now WhatsApp is adding this feature directly to your conversations. After the update, a “Manage Storage” option will appear in every chat. With one tap, you can select all media files for deletion, while your text messages, links, and documents remain safe.
WhatsApp has introduced new sticker options.
WhatsApp offers you the option to switch from regular emoji to animated stickers. When you type a frequently used emoji (for example, a heart emoji), it will suggest stickers (like a pulsating red heart). You can tap a sticker to replace the emoji.
WhatsApp has new AI features you can ignore.
The Meta update wouldn’t be complete without the addition of new Meta AI features . WhatsApp is updating its “Write Assist” feature , introduced last year. “Write Assist” takes your message and offers several edited replacements, each with a different tone, all processed locally by WhatsApp’s “Private Processing” feature. WhatsApp can now directly compose a reply to a message based on the conversation. This also happens locally, and the chat remains private. Finally, you can now use Meta AI to edit photos before sending them to WhatsApp. You can remove distracting objects, change the background, or apply a different style to the photo.
