Everything We Think We Know About the Samsung Galaxy S26 Series

It’s been over a year since the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra were unveiled, meaning Samsung has been eagerly awaiting its new flagship phones for a long time. While nothing has been officially announced about the Galaxy S26, numerous leaks and rumors have surfaced online, giving a pretty good idea of what to expect.

While none of this is confirmed (though all of this information comes from reputable insiders with extensive experience working with future Samsung products), here’s everything the rumors tell us so far. We’ll find out how accurate they are when the devices are announced—possibly by the end of this month.

What do the rumors say about the Samsung Galaxy S26 series launch date and pricing?

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S25 phones on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, with sales beginning on Friday, February 7. It’s now February 2026, and there’s still no word on the Galaxy S26 series, so for some reason, Samsung hasn’t been able to stick to the same schedule it used last year for launching its flagship phones.

However, we should see these phones on sale not too far from 2026. According to information obtained by the Dealabs team, Samsung is planning to hold the presentation on Wednesday, February 25, which coincides with the day of the week when Samsung usually holds its Unpacked events.

This date was confirmed by seasoned insider Evan Blass , so it seems as credible as it could be without official confirmation. Then, as usual, there will be a short pre-order period, after which the phones will go on sale, and shipments of the Galaxy S26 series are expected to begin on Wednesday, March 11.

As for pricing, it appears these Galaxy S26 smartphones will cost the same as their Galaxy S25 counterparts when they were first released. Several sources, including South Korean media reports, are predicting the following starting prices: $799 for the Galaxy S26, $999 for the Galaxy S26 Plus, and $1,299 for the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

What do the rumors say about the Samsung Galaxy S26 series design?

The expected three models—standard, Plus, and Ultra—are in line with what Samsung has done in previous years, including 2025. We might see a more affordable version of the Galaxy S26 FE (Fan Edition) later this year—the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, released in September 2025.

What we likely won’t see is the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge. The Galaxy S25 Edge , the thinnest Galaxy phone to date, was unveiled in May 2025 at just 5.8 mm thick. However, multiple sources (including the reputable Jukan ) suggest that sluggish sales have led to that model being discontinued this year. (Demand for the iPhone Air also appears to be weak.)

As for the design of these phones, we don’t expect any significant changes. Android Headlines has published renders of the 6.3-inch Galaxy S26 , 6.7-inch Galaxy S26 Plus , and 6.9-inch Galaxy S26 Ultra . The screen size of the standard model has increased slightly (from 6.2 inches) compared to the Galaxy S25, but the other two models appear to have the same-sized displays as their predecessors.

The only significant aesthetic change is the pill-shaped camera module on the back. It was absent from the Galaxy S25 series but has appeared on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. Several color options are rumored to be available, including, judging by leaked wallpapers , gray, peach, purple, light blue, black, and silver for the standard model, and black, white, silver, sky blue, cobalt purple, and rose gold for the Ultra model.

What do the rumors say about the Samsung Galaxy S26 series specifications and features?

The Samsung Galaxy S26 smartphones will receive a standard processor speed boost: as SamMobile reports, it appears that, depending on the region, the devices will use a combination of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and Samsung’s own Exynos 2600 processor. Judging by previous years, all phones sold in the US will be equipped with Snapdragon processors.

Don’t expect any dramatic changes in terms of camera performance: according to South Korean publication The Elec , the Galaxy S26’s cameras will match those of the Galaxy S25 (50-megapixel main, 12-megapixel ultra-wide, and 10-megapixel telephoto with 3x zoom), as Samsung is looking to reduce costs. However, the Ultra model may receive a new 10-megapixel telephoto camera .

There may be some good news regarding battery capacity, though it’s only one factor affecting battery life. According to Wccftech , the Galaxy S26 is rumored to feature a 4,300 mAh battery, up from its predecessor’s 4,000 mAh—and it appears the other two models will also receive similar capacity increases.

It appears Samsung will add MagSafe-style accessory attachment to its flagship Galaxy phones this year, in addition to wireless charging. WinFuture has obtained details on several official magnetic cases that are apparently coming soon, as well as the phones themselves.

Samsung has officially announced a new feature—a “next level of privacy” for Galaxy phone screens. When enabled, this feature makes it much more difficult for anyone but you to see what’s displayed on your screen, reducing the risk of someone peeking over your shoulder and seeing passwords, PINs, or other sensitive information.

Overall, it looks like Samsung will offer fairly modest updates this time around, both in terms of design and internal specifications. On the software side , One UI 8.5 brings several new features, including improved security and data sharing tools, as well as expanded AI capabilities.
