My Favorite Kitchen Vacuum Is 50% Off Before Prime Day

I love a good kitchen appliance sale, but there’s only one piece of kitchen equipment that has changed the way my kitchen feels — and I don’t cook with it. Barring emergency kitchen purchases (like if your microwave breaks), if you’re going to buy anything on Amazon’s Prime Day sale, I highly recommend you buy a kitchen vacuum. The Shark Wandvac is one of my most-used kitchen appliances, and it’s currently 50% off.

This shouldn’t shock you, but I cook every day. Obviously, my job has a lot to do with it (I never post recipes I haven’t tried first): I do a lot of recipe development and testing in my kitchen, along with the food my boyfriend and I make ourselves every day. On top of that, I have two cats who have been shedding like crazy this summer, and they love hanging out in the kitchen looking for cheese. The kitchen in this Brooklyn apartment has been through a lot. And it’s not pretty.

That is, until I got my Shark WandVac . It turns out that a big part of what makes my kitchen look dreary is the crumbs, hair, and coffee grounds that seem to collect in corners, cracks, and edges. Big cleanups like wiping down the stove and scrubbing the sink are easy to spot, but I hated how much time it took to meticulously cover every tiny corner of the room. The first and perhaps most important reason I love this tool is that it’s cordless. I’ll definitely knock over jars and cups or knock over a pepper grinder if I have to worry about a cord. I’ve had it for over a year now, using it for a minute or two every few days, and a full charge gives me up to a month of vacuuming power.

Its slim design allows me to get into odd places in cabinets and reach appliances. It’s small enough that I can keep it tucked away on an easy-to-reach low shelf, so when I need it, I can just grab it and give it a quick run across the countertops. Then I tuck it away again. It has great suction, isn’t too noisy, and comes with several attachments: a precision attachment that I use every day, an extra brush, and a wider attachment built into it.
