I’m a Tech Reviewer, and These Are the Best Prime Day Tech Deals (so Far)

Prime Day 2025 runs from Tuesday, July 8 through Friday, July 11, and Lifehacker is sharing the best sales based on product reviews, comparisons, and price tracking tools.

Amazon Prime Day is a bit of a misnomer at this point. It’s not just a day or just Amazon anymore, there are plenty of great deals to check out this week at retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and more.

With tech often getting pretty pricey, it’s a great time to actually buy that gadget you’ve had your eye on. Unfortunately, some of these deals are admittedly too good to be true, so it’s important to track an item’s price history before jumping on a sale that looks a little unrealistic. Luckily, I’ve already taken care of that for you. This week, I’ll be updating this list with the best deals on laptops, tablets, TVs, and more that I can find. New deals will appear over time, and prices are accurate at the time of writing, but stock can fluctuate and sell out between updates, so you might not hesitate if you see a sale you like.

Best Prime Day Deals on Laptops

Apple M4 MacBook Air
$849.00 on Amazon
$999.00 Save $150.00

$849.00 on Amazon
$999.00 Save $150.00

Laptops are some of the most reliable items to buy on Prime Day. Here are my picks for both PCs and Macs.

  • Apple MacBook Air 13-inch with M4 chip: $849 at Amazon (was $999) . Apple’s newest MacBook Air features the new M4 chip, a base 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage.

  • Apple MacBook Air 15-inch with M4 chip: $1,049 at Amazon (was $1,199) . This MacBook Air also has the M4 chip and starts with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, but it has a larger 15-inch screen.

  • Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch with M4/M4 Pro/M4 Max chip: $1,429 at Amazon (was $1,599) . The smaller MacBook Pro comes with the M4 chip, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage, but can be configured with the M4 Pro or M4 Max chip, as well as higher memory and storage capacities.

  • Apple MacBook Air 16-inch with M4 Pro/M4 Max chip: $2,599 at Amazon (was $2,899) The larger MacBook Pro has the largest screen of any Apple laptop and comes with an M4 Pro or Max chip, with RAM and storage configurable depending on how much you want to spend.

  • Microsoft Surface Laptop 13-inch: $800 at Best Buy (was $900) . Microsoft’s own take on the MacBook form factor is now available. It offers a familiar layout for first-time Windows users and features a battery-efficient ARM chip.

  • Samsung Galaxy Book5 360: $1,284 at Amazon (was $1,350) . This Samsung laptop is a convertible, meaning it can be unfolded into a tablet form factor. It comes with a mid-range Intel Core Ultra 5 processor.

  • Acer Chromebook Plus 514: $320 at Amazon (was $400) . This Chromebook has a large 1080p IPS screen, and while it’s not as powerful as pricier laptops, it does come with a number of “Chromebook Plus” AI features that aim to even the playing field.

Best Prime Day Deals on Tablets

Apple iPad 11 inches
$299.00 on Amazon
$349.00 Save $50.00

$299.00 on Amazon
$349.00 Save $50.00

For some people, tablets are now as important as laptops, and they tend to be just as frequently discounted on Prime Day. Whether you prefer Apple or Android, there’s likely a choice for you.

  • Apple 11-inch iPad: $399 at Amazon (was $449) . Apple’s entry-level iPad is now on sale for a small discount. It’s powered by the A16 chip, which is the same processor found in the iPhone 14 Pro.

  • Apple iPad Air 13-inch: $699 at Amazon (was $799) The iPad Air is no longer technically Apple’s thinnest iPad, but it’s a worthy upgrade over the base model with a much more powerful M3 chip and the option to buy either a 13-inch or 11-inch model.

  • Apple iPad Pro: $916.95 at Amazon (was $999) . Apple’s most premium (and actually thinnest) iPad, this model boasts an M4 chip, putting it roughly on par with the MacBook Air. In a first for an iPad, it also has an OLED screen.

  • Microsoft Surface Pro: $700 at Amazon (was $800) This pick is the only tablet on this list with a full desktop operating system, coming with the same Windows 11 experience you’ll find on any other PC. That makes it great for people who want to be able to go from the convenience of a tablet to a more traditional computing environment in an instant.

  • Google Pixel Tablet: $369 at Amazon (was $399) Android on tablets hasn’t always been great in the past, but the Google Pixel tablet has made a concerted effort to improve it for the big screen, with more convenient widgets and better app compatibility. It’s what I use personally, and I like it better than the old iPad I used before it.

Best Prime Day Deals by Phone

Samsung Galaxy S25
$779.99 on Amazon
$859.99 Save $80.00

$779.99 on Amazon
$859.99 Save $80.00

The start of the year usually brings a slew of new phone models, so your phone may already be out of date. Here are your best chances to upgrade this Prime Day.

What do you think at the moment?

  • Samsung Galaxy S25 (unlocked): $780 at Amazon (was $860) . Samsung’s Galaxy line is probably the closest you’ll get to the iPhone experience with Android, and it’s a good fallback solution for those who don’t know where to start. It’s also known for its cameras, so it’s also good for photo enthusiasts.

  • Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra (unlocked): $1,220 at Amazon (was $1,420) . Samsung’s Ultra phones have the highest megapixel counts on the market, and they also come with styluses. They’re arguably the most premium experience you’ll get on a mobile device right now, Android or not.

  • Google Pixel 9a (unlocked): $449 at Amazon (was $499) Google’s Pixel phones are known for their smart AI features, and the budget Pixel 9a gives you access to most of the capabilities of other Pixel devices. Plus, it’s ditched the bulky camera bar, making it a little easier to fit in your pocket.

Prime Day’s Best Deals on Earbuds and Headsets

Apple Airpods Pro 2nd generation
$245.90 on Amazon

$245.90 on Amazon

Just buy a new phone? Good for you! But you’ll probably want some headphones or earbuds to go with it, right?

  • Apple AirPods Pro 2: $159 at Amazon (was $249) . Apple’s best earbuds are on sale now, and they’re well worth the extra cash. They feature noise cancellation, USB-C charging, conversation recognition, and a speaker in the case to make them easy to find.

  • Apple AirPods 4: $99 at Amazon (was $130) . Also on sale are Apple’s newest non-Pro AirPods, which offer USB-C charging, spatial audio, a promised 30 hours of battery life (with charging case), and voice isolation.

  • Beats Studio Buds: $114.49 at Amazon (was $150) . Technically an Apple brand, Beats offer cheaper noise-canceling than the AirPods Pro, plus a different shape that some people may prefer.

  • Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II: $229 at Amazon (was $249) . Bose’s upgraded earbuds feature noise-canceling, a touchscreen interface, and Bose’s unique “fit kit” feature.

  • Sony WF10000XM5 Headphones: $199 at Best Buy (was $300) . Sony is, by my count, Apple’s best competitor when it comes to noise-canceling. The company’s WF1000XM5 headphones have pared down their technology to the smallest possible form factor without sacrificing quality.

  • Apple AirPods Max: $450 at Amazon (was $549) . Apple’s over-ear AirPods Max are a great choice for those who want AirPods-level noise cancellation and automatic source switching but prefer a more traditional form factor.

  • Beats Studio Pro: $180 at Amazon (was $350) Apple’s more affordable headphones, the Beats Studio Pro, feature personalized spatial sound and active noise cancellation.

  • Sony WH-1000XM4: $193 at Amazon (was $348) . These Sony headphones are two generations behind, but offer a compact form factor that’s hard to find for less elsewhere. They offer conversation detection, a mic for onboard calls, Alexa control, and three color options.

  • Sony WH-1000XM5: $298 at Amazon (was $400) The latest generation of Sony’s noise-canceling headphones loses some of the portability, but upgrades to four beam-forming microphones for better call quality and promises up to 30 hours of battery life.

Best Prime Day TV Deals

$1,999.99 Save $600.00

Sales are pretty much the only time I buy TVs. I’m not planning on upgrading my phone right now, but here’s what I’d buy if I did.

  • LG 77-inch B3 OLED TV: $1,486 at Amazon (was $2,297) . LG makes some of the best OLED TVs around, and this big-screen model combines 4K resolution with a fast 120Hz refresh rate. There are four HDMI 2.1 inputs.

  • Roku 55-inch Plus Series QLED 4K Smart TV: $299 at Best Buy (was $500) . Roku may be one of the best ways to buy a TV for a low price right now. Available in sizes up to 75 inches, this TV supports 4K, Dolby Vision, has a 60Hz refresh rate, and comes with the fast Roku operating system built in. Be sure to select the size you want to see the exact price.

  • TCL 55-inch Class Q6-Series 4K Smart Google TV: $280 at Best Buy (was $320) . If you’re not a big fan of Amazon or Roku operating systems, the TCL TV is a solid choice. This model comes in sizes up to 98 inches, has a 4K QLED panel, supports Dolby Vision, and has a respectable native refresh rate of 60Hz.

  • TCL 85-inch QM7 QLED 4K Smart TV: $1,400 at Amazon (was $2,000) . This upgrade from TCL is currently only discounted on larger sizes, but it’s still a relatively affordable way to get a big-screen experience at home. It has Google TV built-in, supports 4K, can play games at up to 240 frames per second, and while it’s not OLED, its QD-Mini LED technology comes with plenty of dimming zones for a similar experience.

Looking for something else? Retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, and Home Depot are running Prime Day sales that are especially helpful if you don’t have Amazon Prime.

  • Walmart’s Prime Day sale starts at midnight on July 8 and includes discounts of up to 50% . It’s an especially good option if you have Walmart+.

  • Best Buy’s Prime Day sale , “Black Friday in July,” runs through Sunday, July 13, and offers some of the best tech sales online . It’s an especially good option if you’re a My Best Buy “Plus” or “Total” member.

  • Home Depot has extended its July 4 sale through at least July 9, competing with some of its own great deals . It’s a particularly good option if you’re looking for power tools, appliances, or outdoor gear.
