New to Prime Day? We’ve got a guide to everything you need to know .
The MacBook Pro is the choice of artists, filmmakers, and even programmers who want a little more performance from their machines. It’s still relatively thin and light, and now that Apple’s internal silicon has had more time to mature, it’s got great compatibility with the most popular productivity software, in addition to some of the best battery life on the market. There are three main versions available, depending on which chip you want, and all are already discounted for Prime Day.
Deals start at $1,429 ($170 off) , which will net you a MacBook Pro with a standard M4 chip, 16GB of memory, and 512GB of storage. That makes this model the closest option to the MacBook Air , though its fan will help it stay cooler longer, and you can spend a little more to get more memory or storage if you want. Also, this model’s 14.2-inch display isn’t available on the Air series, which only comes in 13-inch or 15-inch models.
If you increase your budget to $1,799 ($200 off) , you’ll get the faster M4 Pro chip, as well as up the memory to 24GB. An extra $350 will also double your storage, if you find yourself needing to store a lot of files on your drive at once. Alternatively, paying a total of $2,615 ($284 off) will double the RAM, as well as get a 16.2-inch screen.
Finally, there are three M4 Max models on sale that will give you the best performance and savings. The cheapest one is currently priced at $2,874 ($325 off) and comes with 36GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and a 14.2-inch screen. For $3,149 ($350 off), you’ll also get 36GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, but a larger 16.2-inch screen. The most expensive model is priced at $3,596 ($404 off) and comes with 48GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and a 16.2-inch screen. That’s probably overkill for most people, but the savings of over $400 are compelling.
All of the above deals come in two colors, and you can choose either one without affecting the price — not always the warranty in these cases. You can also add three years of AppleCare+ to any of these deals for an extra fee, though how much you save depends on which model you buy.
