How to Get Your Share of Apple’s Siri Settlement

Apple has been under fire for years after Siri was found to have violated user privacy, and earlier this year the company agreed to a $95 million settlement to settle a class action lawsuit that includes compensation for affected users. Eligible individuals can now apply to receive their share of the total amount.

The dispute centered on Siri-enabled devices, including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, HomePod, iPod touch and Apple TV, which could activate, record and share private conversations without the user’s knowledge.

If you are eligible for a settlement class, you will receive $20 for each device claimed – up to five devices per person for a total of $100 – although this amount may be less if too many class members claim.

Am I eligible for Siri compensation?

The settlement covers Siri-enabled Apple devices purchased or owned between September 17, 2014 and December 31, 2024. If you can confirm that your device accidentally launched Siri during a private or confidential call, you are eligible for a payout. Individuals can file claims for up to five Siri devices.

The deadline to file a claim is July 2, 2025, although it may take some time to actually receive your payment. The court plans to hold a final hearing on the case on Aug. 1, and appeals after that hearing could delay payments.

How to file a dispute with Siri

To claim your piece of the Siri settlement pie, you’ll need to apply online . If you receive a personalized postcard or claim email containing a claim identification number (notification ID) and confirmation code, you will use that to log into the site and begin the claim process.

If you did not receive a notification but believe you are eligible, select New Claim. You’ll need to provide some personal information—name, address, phone number, and email address—as well as the email address attached to your Siri device. You will also need to either upload proof of purchase for each device you claim or provide the serial number and model number. To complete the form, select a payment option, complete the confirmation statement, and click “Submit.”

Alternatively, you can do nothing or choose not to participate in the settlement. In neither situation you will receive any money, but in the latter you retain the right to sue Apple in the future for claims related to this case. Instructions for requesting an exception (also with a July 2 deadline) are detailed on the Settlement FAQ page .
