My Favorite Amazon Purchase of the Day: Beats Pill Portable Speaker

October’s Prime Day may be over, but Target’s Cericle Week and Walmart’s competitive sale are going well. Amazon also still has some lingering sales from its Prime Day sale, including one of my favorite deals: the new Beats Pill speaker . According to price checker tools, it is still $99.99 (originally $149.95), which is the lowest since its recent release. This speaker costs less than a hundred dollars and is a real steal.

I’ve been trying out the Beats Pill since it came out in June, and it has everything I’d want in a portable speaker: stereo sound when connected to at least another compatible speaker, multiroom for playing the same music. multiple speakers, a Find My Device feature in case you lose it, and a speakerphone that lets you use it as an extension of your phone.

This Beats speaker isn’t just for Apple users, as Android users can also connect with Bluetooth 5.3, but it only supports AAC and SBC codecs , so there aren’t any Android-friendly codec options to make the audio pop. Apple users also get full iOS compatibility for a smoother experience. In other words, Pill will automatically appear as a pair on iPhone, but Android will have to look for it. You can read more about this in PCMag’s “excellent” review .

In terms of battery life, you can expect around 24 hours per charge depending on usage, which is in line with other speakers of this size. The sound exhibits the classic vibrant Beats sound signature (balanced yet bass-rich sound). It is IP67 rated and dust and water resistant so it can be submerged in water for up to 30 minutes. The main downside of this speaker is that there is no customizable equalizer in the app, but it already has a great audio signal.
