Remanufactured Steam Decks Are Back in Stock and Cheaper Than Ever

Now is a great time to buy a Steam Deck. Valve’s refurbished LCD Steam Decks are back in stock, and at a lower price than ever before. Used units are available for less than new ones, making them a great option for people who want a Steam Deck but don’t want to pay full price.

This isn’t the first time Valve has offered its portable gaming PC in a refurbished state, but it’s the first time we’ve seen prices drop this low. Now that inventory has been updated (though it’s moving quickly), Valve is offering updated Steam decks starting at $279 for the base 64GB eMMC model. That’s about $70 less than what the company currently charges for a brand new device (and $40 less than when it first started offering refurbished Steam decks). The 256GB NVMe model and 512GB model are now also available in refurbished form for $319 and $359, respectively. This makes the largest LCD model more affordable than buying a brand new smallest OLED version. There is currently no information on when or if Valve will offer the OLED model in an updated form.

While purchasing such a refurbished device may seem risky, Valve promises that it has thoroughly tested all devices and that the only issues present include cosmetic damage such as marks or scratches. Everything else is promised to deliver the same performance as the new Steam Deck. To back this up, all refurbished models come with the same one-year warranty as a new Steam Deck.

Refurbished decks also come with the same case as new Steam decks, giving you the ability to protect your laptop while transporting it from place to place.

At the time of writing, the refurbished 64GB Steam Deck is sold out, so it’s unclear how long others will have available stock or when the 64GB model will get more. Either way, this could be a good opportunity for many to get their hands on Valve’s portable gaming PC, which remains one of the best gaming portables out there right now .

While the Steam Deck’s slightly smaller LCD display may not be as attractive as the Steam Deck’s OLED display, it remains one of the best ways to experience portable PC gaming, especially at lower prices. If you’d rather get an OLED Steam Deck , you can always grab one of these starting at $549 for the 512GB storage option .
