How to See All Devices Signed Into Your Apple Account

Trying to keep all your different digital accounts safe can seem daunting, but sometimes the simplest checks are the most effective. Case in point: viewing the number of different devices you’re currently signed in to.

This is useful for two reasons. First of all, it can flag a device that has accessed your account without your permission or knowledge – perhaps an unwanted and uninvited guest, someone who has taken over your login credentials.

Second, it can show you where your accounts might still be active on old hardware you no longer use—perhaps gadgets you sold or gave away. These devices may not currently be jailbroken, but they may be jailbroken if you are still logged into them.

You can easily do this for your Google account , as well as your Apple account, which you’re probably signed in to on your primary desktop or laptop. It’s worth checking – you may have more active logins than you think.

The easiest way to manage devices signed in to your Apple ID is from a Mac or iPhone. On a Mac, open the Apple menu, then System Preferences , then click your name at the top of the sidebar. You’ll see a list of all the devices you’re currently logged in to, and you can tap on any of them to get more details.

These devices may include your phone and laptop, as well as Apple Watch, HomePod smart speakers, and streaming devices on which you’re signed in to Apple TV Plus . The information you can get on each device will be different, but may include the serial number and version of the software the device is running, which can help you figure out what’s what.

To disconnect a device from your Apple ID, click Remove from Account . Remember that you can always sign back in to these devices, so you don’t disable them forever, but if someone uses your device without your permission, they will suddenly find their access disabled.

You can find the same list of devices and options elsewhere. For example, on an iPhone, open the iOS Settings screen, then tap your name at the top. In a web browser, you can go to your Apple ID account page and click Devices . Devices can also be disabled from any of these locations.

On the same screens—macOS, iOS, and web—you’ll also see a sign-in and security page. Once you’ve disconnected any suspicious devices from your Apple account, head to this page to make sure it’s difficult for anyone to sign in as you again. From here, you can change your password, enable two-factor authentication, and configure your account recovery options.
