As of Thursday, April 4th at 11:00 a.m. ET, Tapo security cameras are available to all shoppers who have the Best Buy app . As I explain in this post about the Best Buy Drops program , you will need to create an account and go to the Drops tab to see the Tapo security cameras. Once you see the offer, click the “Add to Cart” button and you’ll be in line for your chance to buy them. Depending on the popularity of the product, waiting in line can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours. These Drop offers are exclusive to the app, so don’t expect them to appear on the website or in stores.
These cameras do not require a subscription
While TP-Link cameras don’t require a subscription for most of their features, they do offer one subscription starting at $10.49 per month for three cameras if you want to receive photo previews and certain notifications. These cameras are battery powered and can last up to 300 days without replacement (depending on usage). They record in 2K at 2560 by 1440 resolution, have a choice of cloud or local storage, include color night vision, two-way audio, a siren, can be used indoors or outdoors, are IP-66 rated, and are weather sealed. ultra-wide field of view of 150 degrees. They are also compatible with Google Home and Alexa.
