Amazon’s ” Big Spring Sale ” was announced over the weekend, and while it’s not scheduled to start until March 20, many items are already on sale, including Eufy security cameras and Amazon devices . If you’re looking to upgrade your headphones to active noise-canceling (ANC) headphones, check out Amazon’s Echo Buds, which are currently heavily discounted. Echo Buds with wired charging are $54.99 (originally $119.99) and Echo Buds with wireless charging are $74.99 (originally $139.99). Personally, I don’t think the ability to wirelessly charge the headphones is worth $20 more. Otherwise, everything in the headphones is the same.
The best and most distinguishing feature of these ANC-enabled headphones is the hands-free voice assistant. With Alexa, Siri, or Google Assistant on your phone, you can stream music, podcasts, or audiobooks hands-free by simply asking the virtual assistant. You can also make calls, set reminders, skip songs, and do just about everything you can do with a voice assistant.
These Echo Buds also have a multipoint pairing feature that allows you to connect to two devices at the same time and seamlessly switch to whichever one is playing media. You’ll get up to five hours of battery life and another 15 hours from the case (whether it’s wireless or not). They are also IPX4 waterproof rated. In 2023, these headphones have been eclipsed by the third-generation Echo Buds , which are a lower-end version without ANC. If you don’t care about hands-free voice assistance and just want the best active noise-canceling headphones you can get right now, I recommend the Anker Space A40 for $49 (originally $99.99).
