The Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones came out in the fall of 2023 and received a lot of praise for their quality, but were unhappy with the high price. When it comes to ANC, the Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones comfortably take the top spot, but then again, not many ANC headphones sell for $429. Considering the current price, there are no more excuses as to which ANC headphones offer the best value for money.
As PCMag’s “outstanding” review explains, the headphones do their best job of canceling low-frequency noise as well as bass and midrange frequencies. Although they are the best, they are not perfect. You’ll still hear high-frequency sounds coming through the ANC. But they did better than the other two main competitors – Apple AirPods Max and Sony WH-1000XM5 .
Like most ANC-enabled headphones and earbuds, you’ll feel noticeable pressure on your ears when activated. The pressure may vary depending on where the noise is coming from, which can be distracting if you’re not used to it, but this is normal. The headphones also have a transparency mode, which is useful for hearing things happening outside, such as cars and people around you, mainly for safety reasons.
