How to Turn Any YouTube Video Into an Animated Windows Wallpaper

Windows has never been known for having stylish wallpapers that you’d be proud to show off on your desktop. Luckily, there are plenty of great apps that let you do more with your desktop background than just add a static image. One of the best I’ve found is “Live Wallpaper”, which you can use to set YouTube videos as your desktop wallpaper in just a few clicks.

Use Live Wallpaper to set any YouTube video as your Windows wallpaper.

Live Wallpaper is an application created by Rocksdanister. It is available both on the developer’s official website and through the Microsoft Store application . What sets Lively Wallpaper apart from other wallpaper options, including paid ones like Wallpaper Engine, is the fact that you can use it to set any website or YouTube video as your desktop background without much effort.

For example, to set a YouTube video as your wallpaper, the process is simple: install Lively Wallpaper and open the app. A small window will open with a pre-loaded animated wallpaper to choose from. You can simply grab one of these (some even include customization options) or create your own desktop by clicking the “Add Wallpaper” button.

A new window will open that has an area where you can drag and drop a file to upload, an option to select a file, and finally the option to enter a URL and set it as the background.

There are plenty of high-quality animations on YouTube, but if you just want to set your favorite funny video as your wallpaper, there’s always that option. Once you find the video you want, simply click the Share button on YouTube and copy the generated link. Return to Lively and paste the URL into the appropriate field in the Add Wallpaper window.

You can even choose to play audio from a selected video when the desktop is in focus. By default, wallpapers are paused whenever a full-screen app is opened to save performance.

The app also allows you to change a variety of different settings, including pausing playback when running on battery power, a useful feature for laptop users. Experiment with the settings to find out what works for you. I

If you want to use a web page as your background instead of a YouTube video, simply follow the steps above by copying and pasting the website URL instead of the YouTube link.
