How to Add a Loyalty Card or Gift Card to Apple Wallet
Apple Wallet on iPhone is a convenient way to quickly access your credit and debit cards, but it can store more. You can also add and use gift cards, loyalty cards, boarding passes, and even coupons.
How to add a gift or loyalty card to Apple Wallet via email or web page
If you received a gift card or something similar straight to your email, you can easily add it to Apple Wallet from there. In the message, you should see an icon or button that says “Add to Apple Wallet.” Once you click this icon, it should automatically open the Apple Wallet app and most likely ask you to confirm that you want to add the card to your wallet. Your gift or loyalty card should then appear in the Wallet app along with all other cards you have.
If the email or message you received for your card doesn’t have an “Add to Apple Wallet” shortcut, there may also be a QR code that you can scan from the camera app. If the QR code isn’t available and you don’t see the Add to Apple Wallet shortcut, the retailer may not support Apple Wallet. But you don’t have any options yet.
How to add a gift card or loyalty card to Apple Wallet using the app
You can also add a loyalty card or gift card directly from the merchant or company app. To do this, find the company’s official app in the App Store and scroll down. At the bottom of the App Store listing there will be a “Support” section. If you see “Wallet” in the list, it means you will be able to add a loyalty card or gift card to your Wallet app from the company’s official app.
Once you confirm this, download the app and open it. Next, follow the instructions to log into your account. After that, find the gift card or loyalty card you want to add to your wallet. Many apps have a settings menu for managing cards, which is worth looking for first. Apple also has a curated list of apps that support Apple Wallet, but it’s worth noting that this is not a complete list, just a selection of some of them.
How to Enable Wallet Sync in iCloud Settings
If you want to access your gift cards and loyalty cards on other Apple devices, such as an iPad or Mac, you’ll need to turn on Wallet sync in the iCloud settings sections. Wallet syncing should already be turned on by default, but if it isn’t, go to the Settings app on your iPhone. Click on your business card at the top and select iCloud. Under Apps Using iCloud, you should see a Show All option. Scroll down the list until you see “Wallet” and make sure the switch next to it is green.
