Xbox Series S Is Now $80 Off

If you’re still waiting for the right time to jump into the latest generation of consoles, you’re unlikely to find a better deal than this for a while. Target is currently selling the Xbox Series S Starter Kit for $219.99 (originally $299.99). This is the lowest price for this set after a quick check using price comparison tools . This package includes three months of Game Pass Ultimate , which normally costs $44.99. For context, the cheapest console I’ve ever seen was when Dell sold it for $229.99 on Black Friday .

If you’re unsure whether the Xbox Series S is right for you (as opposed to the more powerful and larger Series X), you can check out our comparison of the Series X and Series S here . I also previously wrote why the Series S was the best choice for me :

I’m a casual gamer and have had my Xbox Series S for two years at this point. Buying the Series S instead of the Series X was one of the best decisions I made for several reasons. The main reason is that the Series S is half the price of the Series X. I also knew that I didn’t care about a physical disc reader; I stream all my media and usually download games from the online store anyway. My TV doesn’t support 4K either, so I didn’t mind missing out on the Series X’s better resolution.

The most frustrating aspect was the memory space. The Series S only gives you 500GB (as opposed to the Series X’s 1TB), and only 364GB is available for gaming. This will be enough for about six to ten games, depending on their size. Luckily, the two main games I played on my Xbox, FIFA (now EA FC) and the Halo games, didn’t hit the 364GB storage limit, giving me plenty of room to try another game here and there when it came I was hurt. interest. You can always delete old files that you know you won’t use anymore to free up space. And of course, now you can always expand your storage at much more reasonable prices than when the Series S first came out. A full 1TB of storage is now just $149 on Amazon (originally $219.99).
