Seven Gadgets That Will Clean Your House (Except Robot Vacuum Cleaners)

While working and cleaning your home can be rewarding, you simply don’t always have the time to do it. You may already have a robot vacuum that vacuums up dust and dirt for you, but there are a surprising number of lesser-known—but just as convenient—cleaning devices that can be useful, too. From window cleaners to toilet cleaners, here are some tech tools you can buy to outsource whatever job you despise most.

  • For windows : Let’s start with windows, which can be tedious to clean (and still remain furiously streaky when all is said and done). The Hobot-298 Window Cleaning Robot is, of course, $399 on Amazon, but it’s effective: Fill it with water, attach it to the window, and let it spray and polish. This is especially useful if your home has large, tall windows that are difficult to reach.

  • For the air : Try the GoVeeLife Mini Air Purifier , which can be easily moved from room to room as needed. It can be controlled using an app or voice commands, is quiet and comes with a fragrance.

  • For hard floors : The iRobot Braava Jet , $299.99 on Amazon, uses a precise spray jet to keep your floors sparkling, connects to your phone or smart home devices, learns the layout of your home, and can work in conjunction with your Roomba . the vacuum cleaners, the company says, “team together to vacuum and automatically mop floors in perfect sequence.”

  • For the toilet : The Giddel Toilet Cleaning Robot , $399.99 at Altan Robotech, attaches to your bowl and cleans the top, inside rim, bottom edge, and inside using a variety of motions and pressures. You can also try the Coway Bidetmega 400R , $376.73 on Amazon, which is a bidet but also helps keep the inside of the toilet clean and hygienic when not in use.

  • For trash : The Airdeer automatic trash can bags your trash, seals the bag, and adds a new bag to the container with the touch of a button—essentially, it does everything except actually take out the trash. The device costs $145.99 on Amazon and comes with six refill rings, each of which holds 20 trash bags.

  • For the Litter Box : The Brightshow Self-Cleaning Litter Box , $329.99 on Amazon, comes with its own bags, automatically cleans the litter, and even connects to your smartphone.

  • To help your kids : Viral videos on social media praise the KIDSCLEANCAR portable go-kart , which allows your child to move around the house and clean the floor at the same time. It’s not currently available on Amazon, but usually retails for $200 unless it’s sold out, so check back often if you’re looking to shift some of the housework to your little one.
