The Dremel Versa Electric Scrubber Dryer Kit Is a Power Tool for Cleaning Pots and Pans.

If you’re like me and think everything has to be a power tool, you may have considered using a rotary tool to wash dishes or clean the sink. But most rotary-head tools, such as sanders and polishers, are not designed for washing dishes, and they are often not the right size. Luckily, there are power tools designed specifically for kitchen cleaning, and they come with several handy attachments.

How the Dremel Versa Power Scrubber works

The Dremel Versa Power Scrubber Kit allows you to clean sinks, cooktops, countertops and virtually any kitchen surface. It comes with a variety of Scrub Daddy cleaning pads that attach to the rotating surface with Velcro, similar to how sandpaper is attached to a sander. Scrubbing pads range from a slightly abrasive buffing pad to a durable sponge that’s great for scrubbing pots and pans. The tool is also equipped with a rubber splash guard that extends above the cleaning surface.

Functions

One of the biggest innovations of this Dremel is that it is cordless and waterproof. It is designed to be used in the sink, so getting it wet is not a problem. You can charge it using the included micro USB cable, or opt for a longer cord (the one included is quite short). The set includes five cleaning pads that can be easily replaced. The rubber splash guard is removable for easy cleaning and access to the cleaning pad when not in use.

Advantages

The cleaning tool definitely cleans pots and pans faster, especially those that have burnt-on food stuck to them (as I often have). Your wrists and fingers will find it easier to clean a glass cooktop; The tool is easy to hold and does not require as much pressure as a sponge. By using a rotary scrubber, you can use less soap. And it’s more fun to use than a plain old sponge.

Flaws

The head of this cleaning tool’s scrub pads are about two inches in diameter, making them too large for cleaning smaller cups or utensils. It doesn’t always get into corners well—the cleaning pads are flat circles—so it won’t do all the heavy-duty cleaning for you. Although it has a splash guard, it can pick up some water and soap when in use, so I would use it with an apron and sleeves rolled up. The Velcro that holds the cleaning pads to the instrument may have a tendency to peel off. While this can be fixed with glue , it’s annoying, especially considering that the tool itself costs about $60 (although it’s currently on sale for $49.99).

The $49.99 Dremel Versa Power Scrubber Kit is an upgrade for those who hate scrubbing pots, pans, or glass cooktops. It works well for these purposes, but unless you need to do some serious cleaning, it’s not that practical. While the Dremel scrubber makes washing dishes and cleaning in general more bearable, it is also not a universal tool for all types of dishes or all surfaces. The main benefit of this little cleaning tool is that it is fun and saves time on cleaning.
