Paramount+ With Showtime Will Cost You More

Most streaming services raised their prices last year—some more confusingly than others. Back in June , Paramount+ merged with Showtime , and its prices have increased as a result, but not just for people interested in watching Showtime content. Both of Paramount+’s price tiers—ad-free with Showtime and ad-supported without Showtime—are now more expensive, even though only one of those tiers actually offers more content.

Paramount+’s cheapest plan is more expensive than ever

The most affordable Paramount+ subscription contains ads and does not include Showtime content. It’s called Paramount+ Essential and will now cost you $5.99 per month, up from $4.99 before the merger. If you prefer to pay for the year upfront, you’ll pay $59.99 per year, which is $10 more than the annual fee. Please note that these prices do not include local taxes, which may or may not apply to you depending on where in the US you live.

This plan does not include live coverage of your local CBS station. However, you will be able to watch NFL on CBS and UEFA Champions League soccer matches through separate live streams.

Paramount+ with Showtime prices

Those who want Showtime and no commercials should choose the Paramount+ plan with Showtime. It costs $11.99 per month or $119.99 per year before taxes. This includes all the content available on both streaming services, now combined into one.

This plan does cost $2 more per month over the old Paramount+-only model, but with that increase you get more content. If you subscribed one year before the merger, you will remain subscribed until your next billing cycle. However, once that time comes, you will be charged the new rate.
