Use This Tool to Get the Best Deal on Travel Rewards

When booking flights with award tickets, it can be difficult to know if you’re actually getting the best deal, especially if you’re trying to compare routes using points and miles across multiple airline websites or credit card portals.

To help you untie this knot and make the most of your rewards, try Roame.travel , a search engine launched earlier this year that allows you to view side-by-side pricing options for your trip. It also uses transfer bonus recommendations from credit card rewards programs to help you get the most out of your points.

Roame is looking for 16 airline loyalty programs (which in turn cover 122 airlines):

  • AeroMexico Club Premier

  • Air Canada Airplane

  • French airlines

  • KLM Flying Blue

  • Alaska Mileage Plan

  • American Airlines

  • Avianca Lifemiles

  • Delta SkyMiles

  • Emirates Skywards

  • Iberia Plus

  • Jetblue True Blue

  • United Airlines MileagePlus

  • Virgin Australia Speed

  • Virgin Atlantic

  • Qantas

  • Spirit

The following credit card rewards programs are also included in Roame’s results: Amex Membership Rewards, Bilt Rewards, Brex Rewards, Capital One Rewards, CitThankYou Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards and Marriott Bonvoy.

How to use Roame.travel

You need an account to use Roame, but you can access the site’s core features with the free tier. Once registered, the search engine works like most other booking sites: enter your origin, destination and departure date, as well as your fare class and number of passengers. Roame only considers one-way fares, so you’ll have to do a separate search for round-trip fares.

The search results will show your itinerary options and reward amounts for each loyalty program, as well as recommended points/mile transfer options. If a transfer bonus is available it will also show the discount.

You can narrow your results by airline, number of stops, and/or reward type, which is useful if you only have points from one or a few loyalty programs or credit cards.

If you upgrade to a paid account, which costs $9.16 per month or $109.99 per year, you will gain access to additional features such as flight alerts and detailed search options such as larger regions in more wide range of dates.

Please note that you cannot book flights directly through Roame. The search results will link you with instructions on how to transfer points and miles, but to do so, you’ll need to switch to your airline or credit card rewards portal.

Rome also states that its results may sometimes contain limited information for some mileage programs, and you may not get a full understanding of the nuances of award tickets, such as fees and restrictions with credit card transfer bonuses.
