This Plugin Will Show You Where Every Amazon Product Was Made

Most of us now do at least some (if not most) of our shopping online, but there are some things we give up for that convenience. You can’t actually hold a product in your hands to see if the reality matches the product description, so we often rely on bot-ridden or fake reviews. But if you think where a product is made is an indicator of a product’s likely quality, you may now have a solution, at least on Amazon: Cultivate is a free web browser extension specifically designed for Amazon shoppers that tells you where product. what you are looking at was manufactured.

The extension shows the manufacturer’s location in an additional field below the price. In the case below , the Fossil (Texas brand) leather wallet shows that the wallet was made in China.

I’ve been using this extension for a few days to try it out while I write about early Black Friday deals and have found it useful: The extension also tells you if you’ve found the best price available for the product you’re looking for, if it’s cheaper at another website or local store. It also applies automatic coupons for you.

However, it was not without problems. When you’re on any other retailer’s website outside of Amazon, the extension displays an annoying pop-up in the top right corner of the page telling you that you can activate cash back rewards. The extension allows you to postpone the notification, but only for an hour. If you mostly shop online at Amazon (or don’t mind hitting the snooze button), this may not be a deal breaker for you.

You can read more information about the extension in their FAQ .
