These Are the Best Watch Faces for Apple Watch

Apple Watch is much more than just a wrist computer. Of course, it helps you track your workouts, answer calls, and manage notifications. But it’s also a fashion accessory whose customization is limited not only by which band you use, but also by the watch face.

Apple offers about 60 watch faces, ranging from quirky and trendy to utilitarian. There is something for everyone here. But 60 years is a lot to go through on your own. We’re here to help you narrow down your search for the best watch faces.

California : This is a relatively classic looking dial. You have a traditional analog watch face that can switch between Roman numerals, Arabic numerals, or the classic tablet shape. The only downside is that you’re limited to two complications (widgets that can be added to your watch face).

Chronograph Pro : This watch face simulates a classic analog stopwatch with a precision timer. You can record scales of three, six, 30 or 60 seconds, or set the tachometer to measure speed based on time traveled over a fixed distance. You get four difficulties around the dial.

Infographic : Sometimes the classics just can’t be beat. The Infograph is an analog watch face with eight complications: four around the watch face and four inside the watch face. The one inside even extends to the watch face, showing text around the edges.

Memoji : The Memoji watch face is very fun. You can place any Animoji or Memoji symbols on the watch face, and every time you use the watch, it will animate and come to life. Create a Memoji for your partner or SO, add it to your watch face and you get the advanced version of saving their photo as wallpaper.

Modular : This is the original watch face that I still use from time to time. This is great for people who want to see a lot of information at once without getting in the way of the analog face. You can set a large widget-style complication, and even round icons can display specific data. There is also a variant called the Modular Compact, which features an analogue clock and three complications. The Modular Duo dial has space for two large complications.

Metropolitan : This is a beautiful analog watch face with typographic controls. It wakes up with subtle animations as it transitions from tablets to numbers, and looks great on the new watch faces. You get different versions of the watch face with dial and background color combinations. The four complications around the dial also come in handy.

Portraits . I find the regular Photos watch face a little boring, especially compared to portraits. Instead of simply showing the selected photo on the face, each image is displayed with a bokeh effect, with digital timing partially superimposed in front of or behind the subject, creating a dramatic effect. You can select up to 24 images to cycle through, including two complications.

Typograph : If you love typography, you will love this watch face. This is a stylish option that features an analog clock with a couple of different numeral styles. You can go from four large layouts to a regular but stylish 12-digit layout. There are no complexities on the watch face, no digital clock, and that’s for the best.

Nike : Nike used to have a number of watch faces exclusive to the Nike Apple Watch. Now that Apple no longer makes Nike watches ( they still make Nike bands ), all Nike watch faces are available to everyone. Even if you don’t use the Nike Running app, you can use the watch faces for the vibrant colors that are sorely lacking on other watch faces. For example, the Bounce watch face moves as you move and bounces when you tap the display.
