Where to Get Free Air for Your Tires

Buying, maintaining and insuring a car can be quite costly, so it makes sense to save money whenever possible, including when it comes to inflating tires. As we discussed in a previous Lifehacker post , despite some of the hype about filling tires with nitrogen, its slightly better performance isn’t worth paying even $5 for a tire.

The cost of filling tires with traditional compressed air (such as the one found at a gas station) is much lower: about $1-$2 for the time it takes to fill all four tires. While this is perfectly reasonable, getting air for free is even better. Here’s where to find it.
