How to Compile (and Share) Your Amazon Wish List Before Prime Day

With Prime Day on the horizon (it will take place on July 11 and 12 ), now is the perfect time to make an Amazon wishlist to keep track of everything you want to buy with your Prime account . You can also share your list with friends or family (hint hint) in case they need gift ideas in the future. Here’s how to do it.

How to Create and Add to an Amazon Wish List

To create an Amazon Wishlist in the browser, hover over Accounts & Lists in the top right corner of the navigation bar and select Create List in the middle column. (You can also access it by clicking Accounts & Lists > Your Lists > Create List) . Enter a name for the list in the pop-up window and click Create List .

To create a new listing in the Amazon Shopping app, select the profile icon in the bottom navigation bar and click Your Listings . Click the plus sign next to Your lists and registries , enter a name for the list, and click Create List .

To add an item to your wishlist, go to the item’s page and look for the “Add to list” dropdown (just text on mobile) below the “Add to Cart/Buy Now” field. You can either select an existing wish list or click Create List to create a new wish list.

How to Share an Amazon Wishlist

All Amazon wishlists are private by default, but you can share certain lists with friends and family. Open the list you want to send and click “Invite” or “Send List to Others” (if you’re using Amazon via a browser). In any case, you have the option to allow other users to view and edit your wishlist or view-only, as well as copy a link to your list, or invite other users via email.

Whether you decide to change your privacy settings, update your list name, or allow Alexa to add items to your list, simply hover your mouse over the three horizontal “More” dots and select “Manage List” . You can also turn on the Don’t Ruin My Surprises setting if you want others to be able to give you items on your wish list without your knowledge.
