How to Sign up for Amazon Prime

Amazon Prime Day takes place July 11-12 this year and brings with it a plethora of deals (many of whichare already active ) on everything from garden supplies to kitchen supplies . But to have access to Prime Day deals, as well as other Prime benefits like free shipping and content streaming through Amazon Music, Amazon Video, and Prime Gaming, you need a Prime membership.

Amazon offers a 30-day free trial for new subscribers who haven’t had a Prime membership in the past 12 months, which is a good option if you just want to access Prime Day deals and then cancel your subscription. Just remember that you will need to do this before your subscription is renewed at the monthly or annual rate.

How to sign up for an Amazon Prime account

To get started, go to the Amazon Prime landing page and click “Start Free 30 Day Trial” or “Try Prime Free for 30 Days “. You will be prompted to sign in to an existing Amazon account or create one if you don’t already have one. To create an account, you need to enter your name, email address and password.

Once you click “Create an Amazon account” , Amazon will send a one-time password (OTP) to your email address to verify your account. Copy the one-time password from the email, enter it on the next page and click Confirm . You will then need to enter your payment information (debit or credit card) to complete the registration.

How much does an Amazon Prime membership cost?

If you’re not eligible for a 30-day trial, or you know you want to keep your Prime membership for more than a month, you’ll need to choose a pricing plan. Amazon has four options:

  • Prime Monthly: $14.99 per month
  • Prime Annual: $139/year (just under $12/month)
  • Prime Student Monthly Subscription: $7.49 per month (students are also eligible for a 6-month free trial ).
  • Qualified Public Assistance Recipients: $6.99 per month (with letter of eligibility or EBT card)
