Use Pool Noodles to Hang Dry Your Laundry

It happens to the best of us: we fall in love with an item of clothing, we buy it, and we don’t bother to read the care label until it’s time to wash it. While it’s not as bad as the dreaded “dry clean only” warning, learning that clothes are “hang only” can also be a bummer.

Of course, you can always pretend you didn’t read the label, throw it in the dryer and hope for the best (which we don’t recommend). But if you want to make sure you don’t ruin your new piece of clothing, get ready to hang it to dry.

Of course, this creates a new problem: annoying creases that form when using a dryer or a clothesline. Fortunately, there is a cheap and easy solution to get rid of them. Here’s how to use pool noodles to dry without creases.

How to use pool noodles to hang or dry clothes on a line

The process is quite simple:

Take pool noodles

The first step is to purchase pool noodles. It’s probably better to buy new specialty laundry noodles rather than repurposing one used in pools or natural waters, as clean clothes will be involved.

While it is possible to buy pool noodles online for home delivery, in all likelihood it will be a lot cheaper to buy them in person at your local store for a dollar.

Take some measurements

Measure the length of the clothesline or rods on the dryer.

Cut the pool noodles

Then take a utility knife or other similarly sharp tool and carefully cut the noodles all the way through, as if you were cutting a hot dog bun. In other words, you are making a cut rather than cutting it in half. Then, using your measurements, cut the noodles into pieces that you’ll need for a dryer or clothesline.

Put them on and start drying

Finally, put the pool noodles on the clothesline or dryer bars, hang the laundry you want to dry, and enjoy your clothes wrinkle-free.
