FDA Says Family Dollar Is Recalling These Advil Products

Family Dollar is voluntarily recalling several Advil products from an undisclosed number of its stores nationwide. According to an announcement from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) , the recall is due to improper storage of drugs at temperatures outside Family Dollar’s recommended room temperature.

Which Advil products are being recalled?

The following Advil products with their respective SKUs were stocked and shipped to select Family Dollar Stores from approximately June 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023:

  • 0901458 Advil 200 mg tablet 100 carats
  • 0901839 Advil 200 mg capsules 24 carats
  • 0902867 Capsules Advil Dual Action 36ct
  • 0913023 Tablets Advil 50ct
  • 0916071 Advil Liquid Gel 40 carats
  • 0999259 Advil Tablet 6ct
  • 0999841 Advil Liqui Gel Minis 20ct

You can find the specific batch numbers for each of the SKUs listed above that are affected by this recall here . At the time of this writing, the FDA advises that there have been no formal consumer complaints or medical reports directly related to this recall. Family Dollar has notified all affected stores and asked them to remove all affected products from their shelves.

What if you have recalled Advil products?

You should check your first aid kits to make sure you don’t have any recalled products. The FDA says you can return affected products to the Family Dollar store you bought them from without a receipt. They also recommend that you contact your doctor or healthcare provider if you have any concerns related to the recalled Advil products.
