Don’t Let These March Class Action Deadlines Pass You By.

March brings us several class action lawsuits from major corporations such as Apple, American Airlines, Lexus and Toyota. These agreements cover a range of issues, from false claims to product defects. If you qualify, you may be eligible for compensation and free services if you file your claims within these rapidly approaching deadlines. Here’s what you need to know.

Apple MacBook Keyboard Settlement: March 6

Apple has agreed to pay a $50 million class action lawsuit for their customers typing poorly on some of their MacBook keyboards. People who bought a MacBook (including Air and Pro) between 2015 and 2019 may have bought a laptop with a butterfly keyboard, which describes the hardware mechanism under each key, which has become widely unpopular. If you needed to have your keyboard repaired and it was any of these models , you are entitled to a settlement.

Subaru Battery Settlement: March 9

Subaru has accepted a settlement in response to complaints from its customers that car batteries in certain models and years of manufacture are being discharged prematurely. The agreement states that Subaru was aware of the problem and did not inform its consumers.

If you have owned or rented a 2015-2020 Outback, 2015-2020 Forester, 2015-2020 Legacy, 2015-2020 WRX. or Ascent 2019-2020, the battery warranty is automatically extended. Those who have already paid for issues related to the battery and other costs are entitled to a refund of their money. See qualification details here .

Toyota and Lexus Fuel Pump Agreement: March 14th.

According to the settlement, the fuel tanks in some Toyota and Lexus vehicles are equipped with faulty Denso fuel pumps, which, among other things, is in violation of various state consumer protection laws.

If you have owned, rented, previously owned, purchased or leased the Toyota or Lexus listed here , you may be eligible for this class action agreement. Depending on your vehicle, you may be eligible for various benefits , including reimbursement for certain personal expenses; A customer support program that will provide 15 years of forward coverage for any fuel pump repair; or an extended new parts warranty of 15 years or 150,000 total miles.

Coffee-Mate Settlement: March 14

Nestle agreed to pay $10 million in damages in a lawsuit, alleging that they made false claims about the number of servings contained in each container of Coffee-Mate Powdered Creamer. People who purchased at least one or more Coffee-Mate dry creamers on this list between January 1, 2017 and December 8, 2022 are eligible for a settlement.

If you do not have proof of purchase, you will receive $0.50 per unit purchased, up to a maximum of $5 per household. If you have proof of purchase, you can receive up to $40 per family.

American Airlines Baggage Fee Settlement: March 15th.

This is the same settlement that we covered in February . The deadline has been extended to March 15:

If you have flown with American Airlines and checked in a bag for flights purchased between February 24, 2017 and April 9, 2020, you may be eligible for a portion of the $7.5 million refund if at least one of the following conditions is true :

  • You have received an email confirmation for one or more free checked baggage items.
  • You had an American Airlines Citi credit card which was supposed to entitle you to one free piece of checked baggage per flight.
  • You have an American Airlines credit card with the Barclay logo, which should also have given you one free checked-in bag per flight.

If you qualify, you may be able to file a $7.5 million settlement fund claim. You will be fully refunded for the checked baggage fee of USD 30 to USD 200 for four or more pieces of baggage. You can file a claim here . American Airlines will use your information to check if you are eligible for a settlement, so you do not need proof of purchase to file a claim.

The final settlement hearing is scheduled for Friday, May 5, 2023. You can expect payments to be sent later.

All-Clad Cookware Settlement: March 27

All-Clad agreed to a $4 million settlement in a class-action lawsuit alleging that the company presented its dishes as dishwasher safe. According to the plaintiffs, after placing the dishes in the dishwasher, the non-stick coating peeled off, leaving sharp edges.

If your All-Clad cookware has “sharp edges” after being washed in the dishwasher, you are eligible for a replacement, payment, and/or credit against a future purchase of All-Clad cookware. You can see your three options here in more detail . Read more about who is eligible here .

If your All-Clad didn’t have “sharp edges” (or did, but you threw the dishes away) after being washed in the dishwasher, you can still file a claim with proof of purchase to receive a 35% purchase credit. purchases of any product or products on the All-Clad website.
