Hide Dog Treats in Kitchen Towels

A tired dog is a good dog, and Wolfe Family’s content creators have a cheap solution for energetic dogs that need a lot of attention while you’re too busy to play with. All you need is a few kitchen towels and treats.

Make your own dog toy out of treats and kitchen towels.

Take three old kitchen towels and lay them out on a flat surface. Roll each into a tube with a few crumbled dog treats inside. Then take the tissue tubes filled with treats and cross them crosswise in the center to make a star. In between each layer, add another crumb of treat. Tie the bottom towel to the cross formed by the top two, repeating with both remaining towels until you have a knot-like knot. Stuff a few more treats into the outer folds.

Give your cloth ball to a dog who will hopefully spend quite a bit of time sniffing it, patting it, and generally interrogating it. They will dilute some of the treats and keep walking, attracted by the aroma of the treats deeper inside. At some point, they will eat all the snacks and be completely exhausted.

Sniffing tires dogs

According to the American Kennel Club , dogs have 200 million olfactory receptors in their noses, 194 million more than we do, and they sniff 5 to 10 times per second, while we only do it once every 1.5 seconds. Sniffing is an important event for your furry friend and helps him appreciate his surroundings. This makes them happier and less anxious, resulting in less bad behavior.

It also tires them out. Spruce Pets explains that sniffing can really tire a dog, not to mention that your dog will kick and bite the knot you tie.

Your dog may be different (obviously)

You know your dog best, so if he’s prone to vomit or eat something he shouldn’t, you probably shouldn’t try it or he’ll eat the kitchen towel. Try to use thick towels that are hard to tear, and don’t use towels with pre-existing holes that a hungry, curious dog can take advantage of. You still have to keep an eye on your dog while he plays with him, but you will get some of your time back, especially after he takes a nap afterwards.
