8 Grammar Mistakes You Probably Make Every Day (I Did It on Purpose)

I am not a grammarian. Trying to narrow down English to a specific set of rules will leave you heartbroken and muttering “It’s supposed to be 12 points or less ” to an uninterested supermarket inspector. Language is constantly changing and each of us can use or misuse it as we see fit. “Independent” now means the same thing as “independent”, “amirite” is a dictionary-approved word, and no one needs to consult Strunk or White about anything.

On the other hand, people judge you by how you communicate, especially in a professional environment, so you should at least be aware of how you come out. Thus, I have collected eight common examples of non-standard English and explained a little what is considered their correct use. Feel free to ignore all of this.
