35 Oscar-Nominated Movies in 2023 (and Where to Watch Them)

If the 2023 Oscar nominations tell us anything, it’s that movies are back, baby: after two years of the pandemic, and after last year’s ceremony, during which a movie released by Apple on its streaming service won the award. for the best film. the vast majority of this year’s Oscar nominees played in theaters first. Also important: For the first time in two years, you really need to head to theaters if you want to see all the Best Picture nominees before the March 12 ceremony.

Several Best Picture Award nominees: Top Gun: Maverick; Avatar: Path of Water; Elvis; Everything Anywhere , All At Once was even a box office hit, which can’t be said for many recent contenders, even before COVID threatened to kill the film industry forever. One can only speculate whether the hype around populist favorites will lead to stronger ratings for the Oscars itself, which is now at a two-year all-time low. Based on recent Golden Globe viewer numbers, I wouldn’t bet money on this. But good ratings or not, I’m personally very pleased with this year’s list of nominees – at least the ones I’ve seen; I need to catch up on something before the little golden boys are handed out. If you do too, here’s a little info on where you can stream all of the top contenders for the awards (I’ll keep updating this post as new ones come in).
