You Should Think About Pasta and Dinner
It’s no secret that pasta is one of the most reliable carbs in the world for a satisfying meal. And take a dip? Well, a dip is a savory, delicious pudding that we eat with hard carbs. Then we can say that pasta and chips are meant for each other. Let them come together and indulge in a cheap and tasty meal consisting of just a bath of sauce and a handful of pasta. But you should probably make a whole casserole.
You can use the dip as a pasta sauce
Before you get offended by this idea, think of dip dip as just sauce in a jar. Adding cream cheese sauce to a pot of pasta sounds pretty familiar, doesn’t it? Mix in the remaining pico de gallo and toss with the hot linguine and grated Parmesan. The taste of fresh chopped tomatoes, onions, cilantro and peppers is strong and absolutely delicious. Prepare faux cacio e pepe with parmesan garlic sauce , ground black pepper and fettuccine. Other sauces for chips, such as spinach sauce or caramelized French onion sauce, have a base of mayonnaise, cream cheese, or sour cream. All of these ingredients spread well when heated, add flavor and have the ability to give a luxurious finish. If you have leftover sausage or a strip of bacon, chop it up and toss it and you’ll have an easy dinner in no time. One of my favorite combinations involves a scoop of Trader Joe’s Garlic Paste and Sauce, spread over spaghetti and topped with a thick layer of black pepper. It’s delicious, and the resulting garlic smell is just a reminder of how delicious dinner was.
Make Pasta Casserole with Chips
Whether you’re looking to feed a few people or make dinner for the week, turn this handy idea into a complete casserole. Use whatever sauce you have on hand, add shredded cheese, boiled spaghetti, chopped protein and maybe some frozen vegetables. Sprinkle it all over with plenty of cheese. Bake in a baking dish at 350°F for 25-30 minutes or until the sauce starts to bubble and the cheese is melted. If you’re using cream sauce, I usually add a couple of eggs to the mixture to act as a binder and help make the casserole easier to slice later.
My last pasta casserole consisted of fettuccine, diced ham, Trader Joe’s Caramelized Onion Sauce , spinach, and two eggs. I like most onion sauces, and this one has a particularly strong onion flavor, so I was delighted with how it translucent. Chop herbs or add roasted vegetables that go well with the flavor of the sauce. You can even experiment with the combination of sauces and sauces. Depending on what you add, the flavor of the sauce may take a back seat or take center stage. (And please feel free to open a bag of chips as a side dish.)
