Here Are the Delivery Times for Christmas 2022
We’ve officially entered holiday panic season with less than 10 days until Christmas when we suddenly realize how fast the 25th has crept up on us again. However, if you’re strategic, your packages may (maybe) still make it to their final destination before the big event. Here are some dates to keep in mind, depending on whether you’re shipping via USPS, UPS, FedEx, or ordering online from one of the major retailers.
One important thing to remember is that December 24th is a Saturday, so not all email services will be available on that day; if it comes down to “working days” of delivery for you to meet a deadline, the 24th will not count as one.

Amazon Holiday Shipping Times 2022
- Purchase on December 24th with same day delivery. To use this service, you must be an Amazon Prime member, live in an eligible zip code (or your gift recipient must do so), and even then, only certain items are eligible. There is also a minimum threshold for eligible items in your cart that must be met in order to launch the same day delivery service, which Amazon says is at least $25 in some cities or when paying a $2.99 commission.
- Buy by December 23 with one-day shipping: You must also be a prime member and the product must be eligible for the service, but there is no minimum purchase amount required.
- If purchased before December 22 with two-day delivery: same requirements as for one-day delivery.
2022 Best Buy holiday delivery times
- December 24th Purchase with Same Day Shipping: You must be a Best Buy Totaltech subscriber for this service if you want to get it for free; otherwise, you’ll have to pass the $35 minimum order and be there by 2:00 pm local time. Only certain postcodes are eligible for this service.
- Buy on December 23rd with free next day shipping (available on select items).
- Buy on December 21st with regular delivery for bulky items (there are exceptions, but dates will be indicated in the checkout window).
Walmart Holiday Delivery Times 2022
Walmart hasn’t announced specific shipping deadline dates for the 2022 holidays, but in years past they’ve offered in-store pickup by December 24th. This means that you must place your order no later than December 23rd. They have fast shipping options with free next day and two day delivery for Walmart Plus subscribers who don’t require a minimum order. However, keep an eye on whether the item is shipped by Walmart or a third party because timing will be affected.
2022 Target delivery times during holidays
Target hasn’t shared its holiday shipping dates for 2022 either, but they do have a clear set of shipping rules: If you’re a Target RedCard credit card holder , you can get free two-day shipping on many products online. Be sure to order these items by December 21st to ensure they arrive by the December 24th deadline. As with Walmart, check if the product is delivered by Target or a third party – this will affect the delivery time.
Most orders over $35 will receive free two-day shipping whether or not you’re a RedCard member, but it will depend on your zip code. Target also has its own same-day delivery service with Shipt , which offers unlimited shipping on orders over $35 at $99 per year, but you must subscribe to the service. They also offer same-day shipping to non-members through the Target site at a per-order price. Target will also have a few orders ready for pickup in two hours if they’re in stock.
