This week we mourn the passing of Pot Roast , the beloved cat that millions of TikTok users have been lucky enough to get their hands on their algorithms in recent years. While we collectively mourn the loss of that furry social media icon , we can cheer ourselves up by reaching out to the many other online animals making our lives better with their content.
TikTok has provided a platform for many to make their pets incredibly popular. As with human users, one of the most effective ways for an animal to win fans is to find a niche and dig deep. For example, I am not going to enter into a parasocial relationship with any old pug. Someday they will have a place in my heart as an online prophet, a la Noodle, pug with or without bones .
