You Should Hurry up and Get a Free Amtrak Guest Ticket
I hope you are getting some love from your Valentines today. If not, how about a gift from the country’s largest passenger rail service? Now through February 16, Amtrak is offering a free (BOGO) buy-one-get-one ticket as part of its Amtrak Loves You sale .
While the sale will only last a couple of days, tickets purchased before February 16 allow you to take a companion for free for the next six months when traveling from March 1, 2022 to August 31, 2022.
Amtrak BOGO deal
According to Amtrak’s website, the deal is “valid for travel in Coach Class across the country on most routes, as well as Acela Business Class in the Northeast.” Adult one-way fares on some of the carrier’s most popular routes start at:
- New York – Philadelphia: $18 per bus; $51 Acela Business Class
- Philadelphia-Washington, DC: $18 per bus; $57 for Acela Business Class
- Boston to New York: $29 per bus; $69 for Asela
- New York – Providence: $25 per bus; $66 for Asela
- Washington DC to Atlanta: $106 per bus
- Chicago to Milwaukee: $25 per bus
- New York to Chicago: $90 per bus
- Charlotte to New York: $101 per coach
- Los Angeles to Seattle: $101 per bus
- Oklahoma City to Fort Worth: $31 per bus.

Please note that these are starting fares and are not always valid on all trains. Once the ticket has been issued, the fare is non-refundable, although exchange is allowed before scheduled departure. Additional discounts do not apply and the adult and accompanying person must be booked in the same booking and travel together at the full fare. The BOGO deal is not valid on road trains, Pennsylvanian, Keystone Service and 7000-8999 Thruways.
