How to Finally Link Your PlayStation and Discord Accounts

Your PS5 and PS4 are getting Discord integration, but not in the way you think. For now, the integration is limited to showing your Discord friends what you’re playing on PlayStation. As we speak, this feature is rolling out to all Discord accounts; Here’s how you can link your PlayStation Network (PSN) account to your Discord profile.

Check your privacy settings on your PSN account.

First, you should check to see if others can see both your online status and what you’re playing on their consoles. The easiest way to do this is to go to the Sony website or use the PlayStation app on Android or iPhone . Follow these steps:

  1. Open the PSN account management page and sign in.
  2. Go to the ” Privacy Settings ” tab on the left under PlayStation Network .
  3. Alternatively, you can sign in with the PlayStation app on Android or iPhone and tap the controller icon at the bottom left of the screen. Now tap the gear icon in the top right corner next to your name and the bell icon. This will open the app settings.
  4. Scroll down and select “Privacy Settings ” in PlayStation Network .
  5. Now that you’re on the privacy settings page, select Personal Information | Messaging .
  6. Click the Edit button next to the Online and Now Playing status .
  7. Select Any .

To use this feature, you need to allow everyone to see your online status and the game you are playing on PlayStation.

Link Discord to your PSN account

Once you sort through your PSN privacy settings, you can open Discord and quickly link your PSN account. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Sign in to Discord on your computer or apps on Android or iPhone .
  2. On the desktop, tap on the gear icon at the bottom left of the screen and select ” Connections ” under the “User Settings” subheading.
  3. In Discord apps, tap the profile icon in the bottom right corner of the screen and tap Connections . You can see this if you switch from chat view to channel view by swiping right.
  4. In the Connect Accounts section, select the PlayStation logo.
  5. The Sony website will open in a pop-up window where you can sign in to your PSN account.
  6. After logging in, you will see information about the data that Discord can access from your PSN account. Select Accept to continue.
  7. You will then be returned to the “Connections” page of Discord. To make sure everything works, make sure Show on profile and Show PlayStation Network as your status are enabled.

Your Discord and PSN profiles are now linked – you can launch your copies of the latest PlayStation exclusives and Discord takes over the task of showing them off to your friends.
