How to Watch the Game Awards 2021 and What to Expect

The Game Awards 2021 is a year-end event and this week we can watch advertisements and trailers for new games. Yes, and they do give awards for the best games of the past year, although many of these awards take place behind the scenes even before the broadcast begins.

Apart from Snark, The Game Awards has become one of the biggest annual events in the gaming industry, and there is a lot to expect this year. Let’s take a look at how to look and what you can expect to see.

How to watch The Game Awards 2021

The Game Awards will take place on Thursday, December 9th. The main show will start at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT , but there will be a 30-minute preview show starting at 7:30 PM ET / 4:30 PM PT.

As always, Jeff Keighley is hosting this year and several well-known gaming industry figures, celebrities and influencers are presenting many awards throughout the night, including Guillermo Del Toro, Giancarlo Esposito, Reggie Fils-Aim, Carrie-Anne Moss. , Keanu Reeves and others. There will also be musical performances by Sting and Imagine Dragons.

What to expect from The Game Awards 2021

This year, the award “Game of the Year” claim some great games, including Deathloop, Psychonauts 2, Metroid Dread, Resident Evil Village, It Takes Two , and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. I personally strive for Metroid Dread , but all six nominees are great games.

Of course, many other awards will be presented, such as best directing, art and storytelling, as well as the best games in specific genres such as action games, RPGs, racing games, and more. A list of all categories and nominees is available on the Game Awards website, and there is even time to log in to vote.

However, let’s be honest: most people aren’t just watching celebrity performances or awards ceremonies – there are also tons of big new game announcements for sure, just like in previous years. We already know several games, including Gearbox ‘s Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands , The Matrix Awakens, and a first look at the game from former Bioware general manager Aarin Flynn.

Kayleigh even teased that there will be some huge trailers airing that will be as exciting as the big Elden Ring show during Kaylee’s Summer Games Festival earlier this year.

These trailers could be for anything: the highly anticipated sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild , Metroid Prime 4 , the rumored Chrono Cross remaster, Final Fantasy XVI , the new sequel to Fable – something new and unexpected? Nobody really knows.

However, we do know that in the exhibition there will be no games or announcements Activision-Blizzard. Kayleigh announced that the publisher will not be included in the show due to recent allegations of widespread harassment and labor issues at the company. This means no news on Call of Duty , Diablo 4 or Diablo Eternal , Overwatch 2, or World of Warcraft . But honestly, after everything that has been told about the company this year, their presence will not go unnoticed.
