What’s New in Paramount Plus December 2021
The strangest thing about the Age of Peak Streaming is that there are TV shows that have been going on for years that I, the person who reads entertainment websites and listens to podcasts about TV for entertainment, have never heard of.
A recent example of this is Yellowstone , a dark modern drama about a family of pastoralists who must defend their territory from all sorts of nefarious threats. As I just recently heard about the livestock industry’s response to The Sopranos – a four-season-old TV show that features as much as Kevin Freakin Costner – a mystery to m … oh, I see it’s on Paramount Network, the cable channel that, as I found out, exists shortly before this proposal was written. Yellowstone is so popular that it only receives streaming on Paramount +, which is at least a clearly preserved TV show location. I understand that people are watching (though most of them have the words “Star Trek” in their title). 1883 (December 19) explores the origins of the Dutton cattle dynasty, following them on their journey to the wild west. Further evidence that the show, Not For Me, stars married country singers Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, which is likely to deeply worry most of the show’s potential viewers. What is normal! Television is definitely enough to get by. (And hello Billy Bob Thornton and Sam Elliot partners, this is no small matter.)
Other typically meager choices on Viacom’s streaming service in December include the Queen of the Universe premiere (December 2), a drag-singing competition series pioneered by RuPaul’s Drag Race hosted by Graham Norton of Drag Race UK. ; a special holiday of the Hunters (December 2); Reno 911: The Hunt for QANON, reuniting the mid-2000s Comedy Central cast for a real 2021 investigation and the holiday movie ” Christmas Begins” (December 19), which features a “handsome but frugal airline CEO” who takes over a small regional carrier and plans to cut back on his annual Christmas charity event, leaving it to the daughter of the former owner save the day and bring back the spirit of the season. (Now I understand why so many people watch these things and why Hallmark releases 30 of these films every year.)
