Use This Map to Find the Best Halloween Candy in Your Area

Those of us who grew up with gimmicks or treats even before the internet had to rely on word of mouth, memories, and / or notes from the past year to find the best Halloween homes. But even then, a house that gave out full bars (in this case, full chocolate bars) one year might switch to pencils or pennies the next – you never knew. Likewise, one building that hasn’t been decorated before in previous eerie seasons can be fully decorated next year.

As with everything else in our lives – from where we eat to who we meet – there are now apps to help you (or your kids) get the most out of Halloween. One of them is provided by Nextdoor . Here’s what you need to know and how to use it.

How to use the Nextdoor Halloween card

Having survived another year of the pandemic, it looks like people may have really gotten into the spirit of Halloween this year – or at least the people who are responding to polls conducted by the Nextdoor app. In fact, according to a recent poll of nearly 40,000 people nationwide , 85% said they plan to distribute treats on Halloween night, 68% plan to decorate their home, and 53% plan to both decorate and distribute treats.

It’s usually pretty obvious which houses were decorated for Halloween, but what about treats? This is where the Nextdoor Halloween Treat Map comes in handy. Collected using crowdsourcing data maps facilitate route planning, in which you have to treat , and help determine which streets are best treats and decorations in your area.

The map uses three main icons to provide important information about Halloween:

  • Candy Icon : Treats are handed out in this house
  • Haunted decor badge : This house will be decorated for Halloween
  • Ghost Badge : This house serves out treats and decorates

If you want to give it a try, go to the Nextdoor app or visit nextdoor.com/halloween .
