What’s New on Amazon Prime Video October 2021
Over the weekend, Netflix brought the world some exciting upcoming series, including a live adaptation of Cowboy Bebop due in November. Amazon Prime Video has several great things planned for the rest of 2021, including a potential “Next Game of Thrones ” in The Wheel of Time , based on a series of mega-selling books. But this is November. October … less exciting.
The biggest giveaway this month seems to be the familiar, albeit probably slightly worse, version of what you already liked in the form of a new series based on one of the biggest horror franchises of the 90s. No, not Scream (MTV has done that already); I’m talking about ” I know what you did last summer . “ The first four episodes of the reboot will air on October 15, and they might be more faithful to Lois Duncan’s delightfully trashy romance that inspired the first film.
More promising is a series of cheap horror films produced by Blumhouse, which are reminiscent of streaming versions of the stuff that used to grab attention in the video rental store with funny headlines, dark covers and conceptual spaces. I mean, as soon as you hear Bingo Hell (Oct 1) talking about a senior citizen who resists the demonic presence that has flooded the local bingo hall, you kind of want to watch it, right?
