We are, admittedly, a little fed up. Digital effects are so ubiquitous in our blockbusters that we have come to expect the impossible from films. Our sense of awe may have dulled a little, although we get frustrated very easily (although I don’t see the CGI human and cat monsters in Cats being liked by anyone in any era). We watch films to remind ourselves of brilliantly constructed moments – in pursuit of the coolest things we’ve seen in the films we love.
