It is already difficult for parents to find toys that excite their child’s imagination – and in a positive way. Walking down the aisle with toys at your favorite store is a minefield with warning stickers, a dirty rag that’s likely to ruin your carpet, and packaging that reinforces gender stereotypes.

A while ago, we shared the story of a disappointing trip to Target that included small parts, NERF weapons and goo. We also asked Lifehacker readers what toys were on their “Don’t Buy” list: “problem” toys that can cause physical or psychological harm (or that you just don’t want to deal with).
