How to Get an IPhone to Play Well With Your PC

The workflow between iPhone and Mac is pretty smooth (especially thanks to features like Handoff) and the same can be said for using Android and PC. However, problems arise when you connect your Apple device to a Windows-enabled computer. How to back up your iPhone to Windows 10 PC

For Windows 10 PCs, make sure you are using iTunes version 10.5.1 or later. With your iPhone connected and iTunes open on your computer, click the iPhone icon in the upper-left corner of the iTunes window. Then select “Summary” from the left sidebar and “Back up now”. On this page, you can also click “Encrypt local backup”, where you will be prompted for a password and protect the files being backed up. To view these backups, click Change, then Settings, then Devices and select your iPhone.

How to Import Photos from Your iPhone to Windows PC

To import photos from your iPhone, select the Start menu on your PC. Then open Photos, click Import in the upper right corner and select From Connected Device from the drop-down list. However, this will only import photos stored locally on your phone, not iCloud. To accomplish the latter, you need to get the iCloud desktop app for Windows.
